Mother Well

Mother Well is my signature prenatal/postpartum customizable package. 

 

Whether you are about to welcome a new baby or just had your baby, this service will have you feeling taken care of and grounded in YOUR vision for motherhood!

And yet, with life’s demands, today’s cultural norms, and the rush of society we give little thought and don’t own the experience leading up to this new life.

This individual prenatal/postpartum wellness program is designed to support mom, family, and her baby. There is so much happening during those prenatal and 4th trimester months from what to purchase to envisioning how you want your pregnancy and birth to look and feel like – to your new reality at home with baby in arms.

 

During our time together we will explore mom’s personal needs, questions, and goals.  Mom will have the flexibility to select as much support, education, and inspiration in each area (prenatal and postpartum) based on her needs. From there we will create a personalized plan to optimize our time together and work to empower Mom to walk into motherhood confidently, planting the seeds for her to flourish.

After having 3 children, twin girls and then a son, born all at home and navigating the world of baby-raising while doing our best, it became clear to me that:

1) Motherhood can be lonely (and definitely overwhelming) at times, especially when you’re a mother who would like to seek out more holistic methods and fewer interventions (when possible).  Together we will explore your needs, along with gentle nutrition, and lifestyle strategies rooted in natural and holistic practices specifically tailored for mom and baby to enhance pre/postnatal wellness and experience.

 

2) There are SO MANY decisions and ways to go about having a baby and mothering.  A mother needs to find what works for her, her family, and what is in line with her values.  This program is meant to elevate you and your own style of mothering by educating, inspiring, and helping you connect the dots between your desires and the needed resources and strategies to bring your desires to reality.

 

All of these factors and more were a major reason why I decided to take my research background and integrate it with my passion for holistic care, doula, and health coaching. 

It’s an especially exciting time in a woman’s life but it can be a bit overwhelming.  This program will relieve the overwhelm and replace it with more joy, and more headspace to really enjoy motherhood!

Topics We Will Cover: *list is not exhaustive and subject to change based on educator’s judgment and client’s needs

 

Generally, there will be a heavier emphasis on the time you are in prenatal/post but we can customize topics and goals to cover based on your needs and desires (so you can have as much prenatal/post support and education as you wish)

 

Prenatal 

  • Reflection of primary and secondary food, we’ll check-in on all those non-food (career, joy, relationships, environment, etc) and food-related areas within our lives to gauge what areas could use more attention
  • Joy and satisfaction cultivation, hands-on, one-on-one coaching care to support the transition to new motherhood and increase maternal satisfaction
  • Empowering your birth and vision for motherhood, we will explore your vision for your birth and motherhood and use techniques to help focus and build the right energy to help manifest these dreams.  I’ll provide evidenced-based handouts/informed consent, and any birth plan templates and guidance so you can create a plan you feel good about and prepared for!
  • Birth mental/physical/logistically preparation, we will work together to prepare mom mentally, physically (think comfort measures and positions for labor, food), relationally, and logistically (home, plan for other children in house, car, etc)
  • Gentle nutrition and lifestyle support, we’ll explore an integration of the best foods for pregnancy and support energy, and your growing baby along with diving into prenatal self-care measures
  • Mom and baby best sleep preparation, we’ll explore ways to prepare yourself, baby, and environment for optimal sleep 
  • Meal planning basics that make sense for new-momhood
  • Preparing home for baby, the environment is one that can quickly fill up with excess once a baby is in the house.  We’ll consider your home and unique needs so you feel your environment is in line with your motherhood vision and needs.
  • Reducing toxin exposure for a growing family with more holistic/natural care options, we can explore ways and products specific to you, your new baby, and home to reduce toxin exposure 
  • Mindfulness with uniquely catered tools for the new mama to help relax, recharge, and reset during the prenatal period

 

Postpartum

  • Reflection of primary and secondary food, we’ll check-in on all those non-food (career, joy, relationships, environment, etc) and food-related areas within our lives to gauge what areas could use more attention
  • Mindfulness with uniquely catered tools for the new mama to help relax, recharge and reset during the new motherhood period.
  • Doula support (in-person/virtually) audio, video, and text communication to support clients at a distance and help with troubleshooting, working through certain challenges or preparing for various milestones
  • Joy and satisfaction cultivation, hands-on, one-on-one postpartum care to support the transition to new motherhood and increase maternal satisfaction
  • Gentle nutrition and lifestyle support, we’ll explore an integration of the best foods to optimize breastfeeding and support energy postpartum and a dive into self-care
  • Breastfeeding basics and alternative formula options, we’ll cover the basics of lactation and resources available to support and enhance breastfeeding success and satisfaction.  We will also cover some alternative, more natural formula options.
  • Reducing toxin exposure for a growing family with more holistic/natural care options, we can explore ways and products specific to you and your new baby that you can reduce toxin exposure (teethers, creams, lotions, diapers, bottles, plates, etc)
  • Preparing for foods – what to consider as baby nears 5 to 6 months, different methods and baby-led weaning to a more blended approach

Sure you can get all the books, but actually having your hands and time free to do the digging, especially when you’re new to motherhood, IS HARD!

 

 

If I had had a consolidated, vetted amount of information and resources at my disposal it would have been gold – AND it would have been a gold mine if it also came with community and personal coaching!

 

Remember that saying “it takes a village”? Where did all the villages go?

Being able to ask for help was one of my biggest lessons in motherhood.

 

We can do it all (women are seriously amazing), but it can really burden us and only sustain us for so long.
